What can MeetingSyncAI do?

MeetingSyncAI has four ways to translate: Translate Around Me (live translation of the speech around you), Two-Way Conversation (two people, two languages, one phone), Capture & Translate (point your camera to translate text in the world), and Audio & Files (import a recording or file to get a transcript and translation). After a session, Summarize & Ask can generate an AI summary and answer questions about it.

How does Translate Around Me work?

Translate Around Me listens to the speech around you — a lecture, a meeting you are sitting in, or a person nearby — and shows a running translation in your language on screen. Set the language you want to read in, start, and read along.

How does Two-Way Conversation work?

Two-Way Conversation lets two people who speak different languages talk through one phone. Set the two languages, place the phone between you, and take turns speaking. The app separates and labels each side and shows each person their own language.

What is Capture & Translate?

Capture & Translate uses your camera to read printed text in the world — a sign, a menu, a label, or a form — and translates it on screen using on-image text recognition (OCR). Aim at the text, pick your language, and read the translation.

Can I translate a recording or file?

Yes. Audio & Files takes a recording or file you already have and turns it into a transcript and translation. Uploaded files come back with speaker labels so you can tell who said what, and you can export the result as plain text or PDF.

Can I summarize and ask questions about a session?

Yes. Summarize & Ask is a post-session capability — not a translation mode. After a session, you can opt in to generate an AI summary and ask follow-up questions about what was said. Summaries and answers are processed transiently and nothing is used to train models.

Can it translate a really long PDF — 1,000 pages or more?

Yes. A single document can run up to 2,000 pages, and we tested end-to-end on a 1,288-page book. That ceiling is a technical limit, not what is included: how many pages you can run is set by your plan, and page packs cover the rest. Large documents keep processing in the background, so you can leave the screen while they work.

Can I ask questions about a document after translating it?

Yes. Every document you translate is saved to your library, where you can get a summary or ask questions about what is in it. On a long document or recording, the answer points to the passages it came from, so you can check it — shown in your language when a translation exists for those passages, and in the original when it does not. Short pieces are answered from the whole text at once, without passage references.

Can it transcribe or translate an audio file I already have?

Yes. Import a recording or voice memo with Audio & Files and you get a transcript with speaker labels. You can have it translated as well, or keep it in the original language if you only need a transcript. Either way it is saved to your library with a summary, and you can ask questions about it.

What formats can I export a transcript or translation in?

Plain text (.txt), PDF, or Word (.docx). Before you export you can choose whether to include speaker names, timestamps, and language labels, and whether to export the original, the translation, or both side by side.

Is my audio stored?

Accepted Answer

In live modes your speech is processed only to transcribe and translate it and is not stored — most live translation streams directly to our speech-to-text provider, and higher-accuracy paths process audio on our servers only for that task, then discard it. The resulting transcript stays on your device. Files you import are processed on our servers and the original file is deleted after processing. Nothing is used to train AI models.

Are my recordings saved?

Recording a session is optional and stays on your device — it is not uploaded automatically. Your transcripts are kept locally, and you can export them as text or PDF whenever you like.

Where are my transcripts kept?

Your transcripts and session history are stored locally on your device, not on our servers. You can search your past sessions by transcript text in Recents, and export any of them as text or PDF.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your transcripts and any text sent for post-session summaries or answers are processed only to provide the feature and are never used to train AI models.

Yes. MeetingSyncAI includes read-aloud (text-to-speech), so you can hear a translation spoken instead of only reading it on screen.

Subscriptions are handled through your Apple account. You can view, change, or cancel a MeetingSyncAI subscription anytime in the App Store under your Apple ID subscriptions.

Does it work offline?

Live translation needs an internet connection, because your speech is streamed to our speech-to-text provider and translated. Once a session is saved, playing back and searching your transcripts works offline on your device.

The app can’t hear me — what should I check?

Accepted Answer

Live modes need to hear you, so make sure you allowed microphone access. You can turn it back on in your device Settings under MeetingSyncAI. It also helps to place the phone where it can hear the speaker clearly and to reduce background noise.
